The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world in severe unforeseen economic conditions and geo-political trends. As the Pandemic has almost seized the movement around the world, countries are facing new challenges leading to resetting their priorities and reallocating resources.

India being no exception, is also facing a new era of challenges led by unpredicted situations. These challenges are certainly hitting the human resilience as well as essential services leading towards far-reaching socio-economic consequences.

Finding an opportunity in these hard times, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India called for self-reliant India or ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ laying down five pillars of Atmanirbhar Bharat one of which is Infrastructure.

As an integral part of infrastructure, cooling has emerged as more of a developmental objective rather than a luxury, from space cooling to food security and from better health to better productivity. Thus a holistic development strategy need to be pursued targeting Cooling as livelihood opportunity, cooling of rural infrastructure and cold chains.

This webinar organized by TERI in association with its partners AEEE & CEEW, deliberates on the aspects of cooling in the context of social resilience, sustainability and its role as an essential part of the recovery.
